Now we're making them smarter.

Key Highlights (TL;DR)

- Pre-Coated TiBases come in 2 variations: one with a threaded post and another without
- We've also added a Prosthetic Scan Body to help digitize Smart Denture Conversions
- New Silicone Dams are now available that simplify multiple steps into a single product
- We've added Cementable TiBases as the final piece to help in the cementation process.
- Though previously released, we began offering Rapid Set Pickup Acrylic in January to support SDC 2.0, since Pre-Coated TiBases can only bond with PMMA.

Say Hello to SDC 2.0
Smart Denture Conversions (SDC) 2.0 builds upon our patented Separable Fastener technology introduced in SDC 1.0 while upgrading and adding numerous new features and additional products to the system.

Pre-Coated TiBases

When it comes to SDC 1.0, there were two common upgrade requests from customers: (1) Can you pre-coat the parts? and (2) Can you make the Peek Cap easier to remove? Both of these issues are resolved by Pre-Coated TiBases.
TiBases in SDC 2.0 now come coated in a polycarbonate shell that eliminates the need to pre-coat manually with PMMA. On the top of this shell is a Breakaway Post for easy placement and handling (more on that later).
Additionally, Separable Fastener technology has been integrated directly into the TiBase. SDC 1.0 has a Peek Cap and a Threaded Post that separate during the pickup. In SDC 2.0, the Peek Cap has been eliminated, and the Threaded Post is now secured inside the TiBase with polycarbonate, as can be seen below.

Pre-Coated TiBases have also been released in 2 variations. First, as seen above, is the Threaded Post version, and secondly is a "No Post" version, which removes the Threaded Post and replaces it with polycarbonate material that protects the multi-unit abutments during pickup. You can see a comparison of the two below.
It should be noted that the "No Post" version of Pre-Coated TiBases does not allow for the use of parts like our Press-On Caps.

Watch as Dr. Brandon Kofford walks you through the updated SDC 2.0 workflow, using the Threaded Post version of our Pre-Coated TiBases.

On top of the Pre-Coated TiBase, we've added a Breakaway Post that is designed to make it easier to handle and place the Pre-Coated TiBase. After placing the TiBase onto the multi-unit abutment, the Breakaway Post easily snaps off with a small amount of force. If you don't want the Breakaway Post to help you place the Pre-Coated TiBase, simply snap if off before going to the patient's mouth.
SDC 1.0 users will also notice that we have made changes to the TiBase itself. We wanted to improve on all aspects of Smart Denture Conversions with version 2.0, and that includes the polished collar of the TiBase. You can listen to Dr. Brandon Kofford, co-inventor of Smart Denture Conversions, discuss the importance of the polished collar with Dr. Safa Tahmasebi in our webinar about SDC 2.0.

Prosthesis Scan Body

Quickly capture a digital record of your converted prosthesis with the Prosthesis Scan Body. Attach to the prosthesis post-conversion, scan in minutes, and import into ExoCad to preserve the exact position, occlusion, and contours established at surgery. A simple way to create a permanent digital reference for remakes, restorations, or future treatment planning.
Below, you can see scans created by Dr. Brandon Kofford on a Smart Denture Conversion utilizing Prosthesis Scan Bodies, referenced in our SDC 2.0 webinar.

Dams

As part of the SDC 2.0 release, we are now, for the first time, offering our own Silicone Dams. Designed specifically for Smart Denture Conversions, these single-use dams feature a built-in peel-away layer that replaces the need for tape or other templates. Just make your impressions, punch your holes, and peel away the backing—no layering, no fuss.
Our new Dams are available to purchase in packs of 10.

Cementable TiBases

Another key addition to SDC 2.0 is the Cementable TiBase, which serves as the pivotal connection between our Cementation Aids and Protective Plugs. When all three components are used together, you gain access to Separable Fastener technology that makes the cementation process significantly easier. You can see the improved cementation process demonstrated here.
Cementable TiBases are available to purchase now.

Previously Released:
Rapid Set Pickup Acrylic

In preparation for SDC 2.0, we previously released Rapid Set Pickup Acrylic. Given that our Pre-Coated TiBases only bond with PMMA, it became apparent that we should offer PMMA to go alongside SDC 2.0.
Rapid Set Pickup Acrylic offers a number of unique advantages over other PMMA products on the market. First, Rapid Set Acrylic mixes in seconds and is ready for use in 3 minutes or less. Secondly, it requires no pressure pot to mix while maintaining clinically insignificant porosity. Third, Rapid Set Pickup Acrylic is a unique color of pink that more closely matches the pink of gums. Fourth, Rapid Set Pickup Acrylic can be drawn into a syringe, eliminating backfilling. Fifth, we offer it in pre-dosed vials to make the mixing process as easy as possible.

What Happens to SDC 1.0?

Smart Denture Conversions 1.0 isn’t going anywhere. We know many of our customers rely on and love SDC 1.0, and we have no plans to take it away. That’s why we’re continuing to offer both SDC 1.0 and SDC 2.0 as separate product options.
Even better? Despite the added features in SDC 2.0, we’re not raising the price. You can get Pre-Coated TiBases at the same price as the original Separable Fasteners from SDC 1.0.
