2025 Rewind
We're feeling retro...spective.

Smart On X 2025 Rewind:
Big Ideas, Bold Moves, & Maximum Momentum
2025 was, like, seriously a defining year for Smart On X—and we’re feeling retro-spective. So grab your neon highlighters and crack open the trapper keepers, because we’re about to party like it’s 1985. We’ve been scribbling notes in the margins, swapping insights with friends, and hoping the teacher doesn’t catch us passing them down the row.
What’s the occasion? Simple: 2025 was rad. We kicked things into overdrive—launching new products, refreshing workflows, and making complex procedures way easier for clinicians everywhere. From major system upgrades to tools that were straight-up gnarly (in the best possible way), every release pushed us forward. So cue the rewind—here’s a look back at the moments that made 2025 completely major and set the stage for an even more epic 2026.

New: Rapid Set Pickup Acrylic

We opened 2025 with a product built for speed and simplicity: Rapid Set Pickup Acrylic. Hand-mixable in seconds and ready in under three minutes, this PMMA acrylic deliverrs predictable handling, natural gum color, and syringe-ready convenience—no backfilling required. It became an immediate favorite for clinicians looking to streamline their conversion appointments.
To make your workflows even more efficient, we packaged Rapid Set Pickup Acrylic in convenient pre-dosed vials. There was no more guessing or wasting time measuring powder and monomer—just pour, mix, and get to work in seconds.
For those who prefer measuring on their own, we also offer larger bottles, perfect for custom measurements or for refilling pre-dosed vials.
With options for every workflow, Rapid Set Pickup Acrylic was designed to fit seamlessly into your practice.

Well, Hello There Omnibut
Early in the year, we introduced the Omnibut: an omni-directional multi-unit abutment that can replace straight, 17°, and 30° options. The Omnibut makes it possible to get screw channels where they should be, not where you're restricted to by traditional multi-unit abutments.
With full angulation control in a single abutment, clinicians gain unmatched flexibility, simpler inventory management, and improved patient outcomes. We were thrilled that the Omnibut got FDA 510(k) approval and that we could share this major leap forward in all-on-x components with the dental world.

Traditional multi-unit abutments force compromises—Omnibut eliminates them. Get full angulation control from -30° to +30° (and anywhere in between) for ideal screw channel placement and a slimmer prosthetic.
- Eliminate surgical limitations with unrestricted angulation and less bulk.
- Prioritize patient care with healthier tissue, better healing, and superior
aesthetics. - Simplify your inventory by replacing three abutments with one, reducing waste
and cost.
FDA 510(k) approved and available for purchase, the Omnibut is ready to transform your all-on-x workflow.
SDC 2.0 Workflow Improvements
SDC 2.0 introduced meaningful improvements that make conversions faster, cleaner, and more predictable. It eliminates PEEK caps and removes the need to pre-coat tibases, while preserving the same separable fastener workflow you know and trust—now more streamlined than ever. We’ve also added new components to the system, including a prosthesis scan body that makes it easy to capture digital records of your provisional prosthetic created through Smart Denture Conversions.
Pre-Coated TiBase
TiBases in SDC 2.0 now come in a polycarbonate shell that eliminates the need to pre-coat manually with PMMA. On the top of the TIBase is a Breakaway Post for easy placement and handling.
Additionally, Separable Fastener technology was been integrated directly into the TiBase, with a Threaded Post now secured inside the TiBase with polycarbonate that separates during pickup.
Prosthesis Scan Body

Quickly capture a digital record of your converted prosthesis with the Prosthesis Scan Body. Attach to the prosthesis post-conversion, scan in minutes, and import into ExoCad to preserve the exact position, occlusion, and contours established at surgery. A simple way to create a permanent digital reference for remakes, restorations, or future treatment planning.
Cementable TiBases 10-Pack
Another key addition to SDC 2.0 is the Cementable TiBase, which serves as the pivotal connection between our Cementation Aids and Protective Plugs. When all three components are used together, you gain access to Separable Fastener inspired technology that makes the cementation process significantly easier.
The New Interactive Training Kit
In 2025, we took a major step toward making advanced denture conversion workflows more accessible with the launch of our Smart Denture Conversions Interactive Training Kit. Designed as a true hands-on learning experience, the kit gives clinicians and technicians a guided, step-by-step introduction to the Smart Denture Conversion system—bridging the gap between theory and real-world application.
Rather than relying solely on observation or demonstration, the Interactive Training Kit empowers users to engage directly with the process, build confidence, and develop practical skills at their own pace. This initiative reflects our broader commitment in 2025: lowering barriers to adoption, supporting better outcomes, and meeting clinicians and technicians where they are in their learning journey.

The New SDC Technique Manual
To support the new workflow, we released a completely updated SDC Technique Manual—built from the ground up to accompany SDC 2.0. Featuring clarified visuals, enhanced step-by-step guidance, and a brand-new “How It Works” section, the manual gave clinicians a clearer path to predictable results. Available digitally or as a printed copy, it is the go-to resource for mastering the updated system.

Breaking the Dam News

One of 2025's highlights was the debut of our Silicone Dams, designed specifically for the Smart Denture Conversions protocol. Introduced with SDC 2.0 in June, they quickly became a favorite thanks to their built-in peel-away template that streamlines impressions, hole punching, and setup. The reaction was immediate (“Damn, those are nicel”), and clinicians embraced the streamlined process.
Your feedback helped shape what came next. For teams who didn’t always need 10 dams at a time, we launched the Single Arch Dam Conversion Kit with one dam, retaining rings, and PTFE tape. And for those who wanted everything in bulk, we introduced the Dam Starter Bundle, complete with 10 dams, rings, tape, and a hole punch. Together, these options gave clinicians more flexibility than ever and cemented Silicone Dams as one of the most impactful workflow upgrades of 2025.
Oh, and we came up with about every dam pun we could think of when announcing the news. You better dam well check it out, (sorry, once the dam breaks, there’s no stopping it).

Introducing: SimpleTemp
We kicked off fall with a major leap forward for screw-retained temporaries. SimpleTemp, built on Direct Separable Fastener technology, allows clinicians to create stronger, faster, fully retrievable provisionals—all outside the mouth. Fewer frustrations, more predictability, and a dramatic reduction in chair time made this one of our most celebrated releases.
